about

This is the very first recording I made on a four track. The old style with a metallic silver sticker on the back of a cassette. It was not a Fostex but I cannot remember what kind it was. I borrowed it from Paul Ryer who was working with Kevin Chanel in The Soul Brothers. I recorded for a full month, writing at a frenetic pace. These were crude sung and played as I was really trying all this for the first time but there is a charm to it all. The songs are odd little ditties but there is some sprak in them.
The bonus tracks are all just sketches of things I dropped or songs that would emerge later on the next cassettes or, in dark Globe as a full operating band. They are not meant to amaze but are mere curiosities in their quaint construction and intent.

credits

released April 28, 2014

All music was essentially played by Jon Gire. There was some drum machine programmed in as well.

Track Name: Almost
Long moonless night
long lonely night
what went wrong tonight
I was wondering

Long moonless night
long empty night
curtains drawn so tight
I was wondering

I don't mind
the candle burns all night
Undefined the shadows dance so close
too close
I suppose
Almost
letting go of the answers
buried deep inside
your losing faith in words and contact
spirits locked outside
so why the games in castles mazes
games of love denied
fear of mirrors image
makes you cold and dead inside
I never meant to plant you in my garden
I never meant to plant you in my
garden
